I could of swore that it was illegal and against regulations for them to even "tell you" or "ask you" to knowingly run over your HOS??????????????????

Like others have said states vary, however, if you tell them you are recorded the call most states will allow it.

I was working for a company out of Mars Hill ME, (2005) thats all there dispatchers wanted drivers to do. I spoke to my boss ( he leased his trucks to them), they denied it. I told him, next time I call them ill record it so you can hear it. i did just that and he was suprised.. he pulled his contract within a week. they are still in business up there, I guess they cleaned house of a few dispatchers. Your the driver, it falls on you. you know what you can and can't do legally. happy hilidays and a good 2010 to everyone..

my boss has never told me to run over hours, but he knows that we do it on occasion, he also knows it will fall on our head and his head. But at the sametime, he also make every effort to dispatch us so that we always have plenty of time to run totally legal. today is the exception, but I didn't tell you that............................
