the manufacturer does not let them do anything, BUT destroy old inventory.
Sirscrapntruckalot, gentleroger, WildTiger1990 and 1 other person Thank this. -
If only the tic tocker understood that there can be way more to it then just adding to a carbon footprint and keeping poor kids from having them for FREE!
Those bikes could have fallen under a private Safety Technical Group Bulletin Recall between The manufacturer and the seller for something as simple as a bad weld or something. Scrap on site is easier then shipping them back to factory for them to scrap anyway. This is done a lot more then people know about. It’s very common in the tire equipment supply industry.austinmike, gentleroger, Numb and 2 others Thank this. -
I seen a tech setting up one of these bikes out of the box , he was tightening down the the front wheel nuts with garden shears.

Now some of yall are going to think I'm exaggerating with this story but it's absolutely the truth.
When I worked roll-off for WM, We found stuff all the time from these places. I dumped Sears & they had thrown away open packages or broken packages of tools, tool sets, discontinued tools etc. I dont know all of why. When I dumped the compactor in the landfill & see all those tools, I looked around for cardboard boxes. I pilled them in the passenger floor & seat etc. When I got off that afternoon, I went back to Sears & bought a 3 tier rolling tool chest & filled it up with all the tools I picked up that day. That was probably 25 years ago. I still have the 3 tier chest filled with all those tools sitting right beside my other 3 tier tool chest that I own in addition.
This was just one instance on one day.Last edited: May 3, 2022

I believe it. Two years ago we scrapped 772 new in the box Ingersol-Rand 2130 1/2 impact guns because they deemed the torque setting to not be as advertised. The bulletin came out to scrap so we had CMC bring us a roll-off. During Covid AFF 3-1/2 ton jacks went on backorder for pump issues on certain serial series. Had to scrap 45 new we had. I believe Harbor Freight and Northern Tool had to do the same with some of there inventory.Chinatown Thanks this.

My BIL cherry picks dumpster from a similar store in Canada when it arrives at his buds scrapyard. Most items particularly compressors are easily repairable, usually just a switch,,,bbq’s a dent. Everything then resold. Nothing is returned to manufacturers since its all made in Asia.
