I am wondering what is the best way to keep from tarps and chains from being stolen I am a local flatbed running within 250 miles but what is the best way of keeping stuff from being stolen of I don't have a headache rack yet need the extra cash first before I can buy... Any suggestions would be great... Any way to chain up the tarp or something without putting in the cab...
thanks

What type of truck are you driving every day, you can chain them into a box built inside frame rails in front of 5th wheel.

After 57 years on this earth I have realized you can't stop a thief, only slow them down.

That's true never thought of that way but I was thinking if you make it harder for them they are less likely to try... I am looking for a inexpensive way just temporary till I get the headache rack with locks and such... I have a 96 kW t600 I have lots of room for a box but same price as a headache rack... And need to save for this week for operating cost.

At first I found an old metal tool box big enough for chains and bolted to cat walk but you could build one a bit bigger for almost nothing or even frame up a wood one for temp I had a wood one on my Volvo for 6 months built it out of 1/2 plywood and 2x2s

I was loading one time and a guy pulled up and all of his boxes had the doors removed. And I could see they weren't removed nicely. I asked what happened he said they wanted what was inside so they pryed the doors open and busted them up. So now not only was he missing his stuff his boxes were missing doors. I immediately walked around unlocked all my boxes and threw away the keys. Let them steal it.

That is the same reason that people do not lock greenhouse doors. It is much cheaper and easier to replace the plants than have them cut through the plastic.

I've heard of guys parking on their tarps, never seen it though.

Yeah I see it as apperently they needed it more than I did to risk me coming out with my beater bar[emoji35]
