I once had an old set of lumber tarps-so old they were actually falling apart-and often thought about making a sign saying 'Free 8' Drop Tarps' just to see if anyone would actually take em..LOL

A few months ago I blew a trailer tire. It was so bad they didn't want to take the tire so I put it in my spare tire carrier under the trailer. Two days later someone stole it. They were nice enough to leave my chain and D ring.

chain them down and use a lever binder and put a lock thru the chain and the binder and no one will steal your tarps.Last edited: Aug 25, 2014

OP is a prime driver i think, I keep my lumber tarps on top of the headache rack and i stuff both my steel tarps under it. I keep the smoke tarp in the headache rack, though i could fit it up top if i really wanted to.
Make sure you get some 1" straps to hold them down, a lot of drivers just use bungees, aside from the fact that bungees don't have a load measurement rating, if those bungees snap or you have to hit the brakes, those tarps are probably gone. Even if it's unlikley, it takes 30 seconds to strap them down and a four pack costs like $20. I don't know what an unsecured load ticket costs, but i'm guessing it's less than $20. -
Had to move all 5 of my 4' drops into the cab today because what I thought would be a pipe load was a foam load. It's kind of like having a doghouse in a cabover, crawling over them to get back into bed. I think I might adapt a pickup toolbox to mount on the front of my bulkhead to throw them into.
