So, in the front of the load, the nose, y'all are suggesting the flap go over the sides on the front?? Seemed like that made more of an air flow into the tarps!? When I reversed, and put the flap under the sides it seemed to ride a lot smoother... im confused now... looks ks like another good technique is to take a bungee, hook it to a d-ring, around under the rub rail and back into another d-ring... I've seen some of you guys out here who look like y'all have less than 30 bungees on and y'all got the tarp perfect, not flapping, just riding good and smooth. Shoot, I had all 100 of my bungees "holding my tarp" down and I could have been confused as a ship and sail going up the interstate... Lol
Yes, after I finish the sides and rear I will hop up on front of trailer and do it last. When im securing the front, I will leave the front flap resting on top of the load so its out of the way while im connecting the sides to each other. Use all the grommets up while connecting the passenger side to the drivers side. Theres a horizontal row of grommets that run across the top that I will then hook tarpstraps onto and pull downward (to keep it from wind lifting) Then I will pull the flap down over the front and secure it to the sides with the straps at a downward angle. Before I jump off the trailer I will dangle tarp straps off the sides of the flap using up all grommets. I will link the straps together so they can be reached from the ground. Once im down on the ground i will reach up and start pulling the dangling tarp straps and connecting them to trailer, often tossing the extra linked ones on the ground as I go. When you develop a pattern or routine you will be able to tarp quickly and youll never have to stop to fix a tarp once you are loaded and rolling.
