The good thing about starting a job in winter time: long sleeve shirts. Do a good job and by the time some suit sees the tat it is easier for them to keep you and not fire you.

Averitt does have a tattoo policy, here's some of their orientation requirements. There were a couple of guys that had them on their forearms when I was in orientation, they simply covered with a bandage or long sleeve shirt.

Averitt’s orientation session is the first step towards a rewarding career with endless opportunities! If you are selected to join the Averitt team, your selection coordinator will explain orientation in detail, and you will receive an orientation packet to confirm this information.
Orientation is paid, and your hotel, breakfast & lunch will be provided. You are responsible for your meals/snacks at night.
Besides the required information / materials noted in your orientation packet, be sure to bring the following:
Two forms of identification (a complete list is in your orientation packet)
A few pairs of dark colored dress pants or khakis (If you are a driver, you will wear these the first day of orientation until you receive your uniforms, all other positions will wear dress pants or khakis the entire time). Check the weather for Cookeville, TN 38502 so you can pack accordingly

Black shoes; dress shoes or work boots are best. Tennis shoes are NOTpermitted other than during the road test. Tennis shoes, cowboy boots, and denim jeans are strictly prohibited

A voided check or something from the bank showing your bank account number to setup direct deposit

Page 1 of the 1040 from the previous year’s Federal Income Tax Return. This will show a spouse or any dependents that need to be added to insurance. If married in the current year, we will accept the marriage certificate.

Social Security numbers and dates of birth of any dependents for insurance purposes. For children not claimed on taxes, bring their birth certificate for insurance purposes

Please arrive clean-shaven; mustaches are acceptable but must be neatly trimmed and not extend past the corners of the mouth.
Visible tattoos should be covered at all times (keep this in mind when packing for orientation).
We look forward to meeting you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your selection coordinator or service center director.

I say cover it up and go get the job you want. Best of luck to you.

I like tattoos, but you've got to question the intelligence of those who get tattoos that cannot be covered up when appropriate. Face and neck tattoos?? - way to go genius!

wow never knew they had that strict of requirements. i could never work for them. i only wear cowboy style boots and have for as long as i can remember. i own no other style of shoe. My arms are heavily tattood but can be easily covered. i shave my goatee and moustache for no one. I own no khaki pants only jeans. now i can wear uniform shirts and have no problem with that. i have some from where i work that i wear on occasion but mostly wear an old tshirt that i don't care if it gets covered in oil and dirt and lord knowns what else

Might be a good opportunity for out-of-work Trunk Monkeys.

Well while they have a tattoo policy i don't really think they enforce it. I have a forearm tattoo and a tattoo on my leg and I've been in front of corp and they never said anything. I wear shorts and short sleeve shirts all the time especially in the summer. Orientation i had it covered up but after I got out on the road I wore what was most comfortable. I never had a customer complain or cause any problems with my tattoos. I've even had dock guys come up to me with paper work and have a full sleeve.
