TAX changes for us?

I was saying that 50 yrs ago. lol

 

I beleive that very young me (16ish) 26 years ago, upon reading up in social security's founding and funding thought the following;
A. This system is obviously unsustainable economically.
B. Surely the adults in the room in washington would have to eventually face reality and be responsible and end it before i retire

I still beleive the first statement, even more so as Ive learned how pretty much all governments manipulate monetary policy and as ive studied the fall of various governments throughout history.

I no longer think there are ANY responsible adults at the helm capable of seeing reality. Further, i beleive it is a rarity for them to ever even make up 25% of a ruling body throughout history

 

be responsible and fund it.

it's a program that's helped the retired people like me with no other income to survive for the last 90 yrs, without missing a payment.

all they need to do is adjust the deductions to cover it as they have been doing all along.

 

or people can turn around and set up their own personal retirement account. It’s not that difficult to do. People should never have to rely on Social Security 100%

 

open up your own 401K or Roth plan...seek professional financial advice from a certified financial planner, not from hearsay on a website.

pay for the solid advice, and adhere to it.

 

that's ok for you younger guys, but I had company pensions and lost them when they went under, before 401K and all the other stuff. had little time to build up a million dollars to live on

 

You can set up anything anywhere you want. It's still not a gaurantee it'll be there for you.

And 20 years ago. The available options today weren't around back then.

 

You are all missing one important element of driver pay.
There are no wage laws for the transportation industry, that includes airlines and railroad workers.
It is the responsibility of the workers to set their pay scale.
If a pilot accepts my pay of $5 an hour to fly my 747, guess what Im paying him.
Same concept with a truck driver.
Thus the reason to flood the workforce with cheap drivers from around the world?

 

If you or anyone else is relying on social security for your retirement, you are really barking up the wrong tree.

heck, i may even skip the "blue pill" as well, i'm starting to feel frisky............but my wife is at our daughters house baby sitting.......
