Drivers, it looks like I'll be needing a tax attorney. My problems are with NM Tax & Revenue, so do I need a lawyer practicing in NM? Does anyone have a referral or know a tax attorney I could speak with? Thx
My problem is they want me to pay $50K GRT taxes and penalties. I was leased to CFI, and I'm pretty sure they did some of that mileage filing, IFTA, for us? 5 years later, ouch.

You might have an attorney look at your lease with CFI.
Might be they are responsible for the NM taxes.
    Good luck.

I’d suggest shredding the mail regarding that and moving on. My best suggestion today!

I know there used to be a guy advertise on America's Truckin' Network that was out of Florida but could help with any state's issues, or Federal IRS. I called him about an issue and got a creepy vibe from him.

Took everything to H&R block and they fixed everything. I woukd recommend that if your issues are with the state of New Mexico, find a New Mexico tax attorney, preferbly one that deals with businesses and maybe even trucking. If you are a member of OOIDA, they maybe able to help you locate an attorney. Good luck driver.
