To claim showers you would have to itemize deductions . Do you have enough expenses to exceed the standard deduction ?

so i been waiting for this proof and still waiting to tell me im wrong once again per-diem is for lodging, food, showers, anything you spend for that night you have to choose one or the other that is the highest
The term "per diem" means "daily." In a business setting, the term has come to mean the daily rates employees use for expenses incurred while traveling on business-related activities. These rates are likely to differ based on whether the employee travels in his or her home area, away from home, or internationally. The per diem allowance is the amount given to a traveler to cover expenses such as lodging, meals, and entertainment in connection with the performance of service duties for a company.
Typically the human resources department of an organization will establish per diem rates for employee travel expense reimbursement as well as policies for submitting travel expense forms and for documenting all approved expenses. Per diem amounts are normally set in advance. Employees typically may either claim actual expenses incurred or use established per diem rates or combine these methods. For example, the employee may claim a per diem amount for meals and claim actual costs for lodging, as long as lodging expenses do not exceed together the per diem allowance for lodging.
Under the "regular federal per diem rate" method, an employer can deduct its employees' ordinary and necessary business travel, meals and entertainment expenses reimbursed under an accountable plan. Expenses less than or equal to the federal per diem rate should be deducted in an entity's "Other Deductions" on its tax return. If the expenses exceed the federal per diem rate, the amount up to the rate should be included in an employee's Form W-2, Box 12 (Code L) and deducted in Other Deductions. However, the amount exceeding the rate should be included in an employee's Form W-2, Box 1 (and in 3 and 5, if applicable) and deducted as wages subject to income tax withholding and Social Security, Medicare and unemployment taxes. The applicable rates are determined by the locality where the expenses are incurred

You know, I have done taxes professionally since 1982. I have been on many audits.

I cannot help that you cannot understand simple english.

    Look up what an

Enrolled Agent to Practice Before the IRS is.

I am subject to ethics, and penalties for false advice.

You have yet to show anything to support the false information you have given out. Anything possibly heard in one audit, means nothing except maybe misunderstood facts.

You are probably the only person so inclined to think this.

    As far as per diems.

IRS sets rules for Meals under one section of per diem regulations.

In another section, there is one dealing with the regulations for motels.

At no time are these addressed together. A company can elect to cover these in accountable plans. Both are mentioned in such plans as two different transactions.

Short of holding your hand and walking you through this step by step, I can see no reason to spend any more time.
