I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you guys but I fractured my lower spine and have been laid up. Teachers only work for 9 months out of the year and I'll agree some spend a lot of hours extra. But nothing compared to corporate where they have so much pressure on them they burn out real fast. It's unreal what big companies demand of their people and they have no choice but do it. Take a VP at a major oil company. They need to down size so they get rid of other VP's and transfer that work over to the ones that stay. No new hires so the person how has two to three person's work load. Believe me I've seen for 10 years. And those VP's burn out after 2 years and take an early retirement.
I've seen the government white collar, school teachers, and corporate. And what I've seen government is the easiest and it goes from there. As far as Las Vegas the wages are lower because the cost of living is lower. What do you pay it property taxes? Mine is over $8000 a year. My wife worked at Helen Herr school there in Vegas and she knows what the teachers do. And it's nothing compared to the oil company I worked for. The whole point here is why would someone want to leave a better paying job for one the can be gone at any time?
