You can but if you both drive 5 1/2 you are going to have to sit somewhere for 2 1/2 hours waiting for the driver in the sleeper to get his 8 hours of sleep. Youll lose about 5 hours everytime you switch drivers. Like Trooper said, big waste of time, miles and money.

You can do anything you want to do. Just don't get caught.

The purpose of team driving is to keep the wheels moving as much as possible. It is also wise for one driver to be asleep while the other is driving. That way, you don't get on each others nerves.

You drive your 11 with your 1/2 mandatory break, stop at a truck stop, fuel, SHOWER, get something to eat and switch. Your co driver does the same thing. This is repeated. However, this schedule means you will have to do a reset as you run out your 70 clock doing it this way. Of course that gives you 34 hours to try to find a new partner.

Be very careful turning corners with a partner in back. They really get pis sy being thrown out of their bunk.

    austinmike Thanks this.
