There would be no reason for Swift to speed through construction zones, for one.

LOL. Just imagine how efficient the trucking industry would suddenly become. I bet that dispatcher wouldn't be nearly as happy to have you sitting there rotting in the parking lot for 5 hours waiting for a load to meander it's way onto your trailer knowing they had to pay you $20/hr for the privilege no if's and's or buts. This is of course the most fair arrangement as an employee. Your time is really all you have to offer an employer to do whatever it is they want you to do. The time you spend sitting around waiting for a load is no different than the time you spend going down the road. Them demanding it for free is not right.

You'd have to pay me a lot to run team.

Like 200k, so basically it would never happen. I make good money m-f too with one or two overnights a month.

He totally did the math wrong. If she made 32 cpm on 2800 miles and he made 45 cpm on 2800 miles, the gross would be $2,156, not double that. He was figuring both drivers were paid 77 cpm on all miles.

The closest thing to that in reality would be teaming at Old Dominion. I believe they pay 70 cpm on all miles to teams these days.
