Prime is also in Springfield if you want to run flat.

For flatbed, I'd put Britton at the top of the list followed by Melton.
Here's some more to consider:
Tyson Foods - refrigerated
Platte River Transportation - flatbed
Boyd Bros. - flatbed
System Transport - flatbed
TMC - flatbed, make good money there, but their turnover in drivers seems high. An older, more mature driver may not have a problem there; I don't really know.
The flatbed trainer at Britton @MrEd worked at TMC for 17 years. Maybe he'll give more input.Last edited: Sep 21, 2016
RedRover Thanks this. -
I was teamming with a guy who would drive a straight 11 hours not even stopping to get food or take a bath brake until his 11 was over. I left right under a load going to cali i broke it off in new mexico dispatch was mad but oh well i'm out.

I bet there are some good stories about teaming with odd people. I left a lot of detail out, only using the main issues that affected everyone. My problem became; that I was guilty by association. It made me look like a bad driver as well. My biggest pet peeve has always been being late to anything. Being prior US Army, gave me good habits, and I work to keep those good habits.
