team logbooks

    I think you are wrong on both counts--a trainer(or anyone else for that matter)in the passenger seat has to be on line 4--besides if he/she is training they are on duty--
    As for inspections they typically want BOTH logbooks--there is no reason for you to get out--or up for that matter--but it was my experience the officer asks the on-duty driver for both logbooks
    Besides with today's new BS rules--officially if you get up and get out of bunk--it could be considered as breaking your ten off
    Someone with more team experience under NEW HOS correct me if I am wrong--haven't run team since late 80's training my youngest

    When I ran team if they asked for logbook, they wanted to see both of them. And yes if your in front of that curtain, you better be on line 4.

    My co-driver almost got a ticket in Dallas because when I got pulled in for a roadside check, he got his stupid butt up out of bed and set down in the jump seat.
