In reply to 123456.... As far as tens of thousands of unemployed drivers? I think you should research that.... If you are a driver and can't get a driving job then you must have a bad record! All companies are begging for GOOD drivers... We get a $1000 to bring someone on and there was a big push for this a couple of months ago! I think other companies give their employees the same .

Me, I'm gainfully employed, part time and part time retired. Is this thread now about me ???
I never used the phrase Good drivers.
And a little research would probaly show more than tens of thosands of cdl drivers out there, looking for work.
And no Good companies are begging for Good drivers............that I know of anyways. -
Kennesaw USED to be an excellant employee owned, team preferred, outfit.
Also east-west, and there are a few more.
Good Luck in your search !!! -
Figure there are at least a million drivers,
unemployment of just 5% would equal tens of thousands........

You may have already found this, but if not then you may want to check the pay scale for a team with 2 yrs experience: http://www.xpressdrivers.com/teams.html. The pay scale is found by clicking on the $ sign in the lower rt hand part of pg. With 2 yrs exp it indicates .44cpm. .48cpm requires at least 7 yrs. exp. AND don't forget that those rates are only if both team drivers have Haz-Mat. Figure .02cpm less if even one driver does not have HM. Also Haz-Mat pay is usually paid quarterly, and should not be expected to be included on the paycheck following when the load actually delivered.
$5000 sign on bonus sounds attractive, but may be a ruse. Whatever the bonus is, it won't be paid all at once. When I resigned with them it was paid half after the first load delivered and then the other half after completing 90 days.
I teamed with a fellow that had a 12 yr accident free record with USX, and we never saw 5000 mi a week. Sometimes close, but overall miles were disappointing. Again, that sign on bonus sounds unrealistically high. May want to check that thoroughly. Try calling Chattanooga and ask to speak to Butch Wilson if you want to get the straight-skinny on teaming at USX.
Then again, perhaps staying at Conway could be your best option for now. Best wishes in whatever you decide. -
The $5,000 is real and split by the team. Paid $1000 after you deliver your first load and the rest is paid in $1000 increments the end each quarter so you need to stay with the company for a year to collect it all.

How serious of a team are you, I mean in terms of miles you are looking for?
