I don't have any myself but the big guys ie USX pay .50cpm for experienced teams.

I drive with my father as a team, using our own truck leased on to a company. We get 1.35 a mile plus fsc usually about 40c, he pays me and keeps about 80% but we leave most of the money aside hoping to get our own authority soon, is this low/high/average pay

Sorry it was my heartattack. So lets get this outta the way. Who ya hauling for? What type of trailer are ya dragging?
-
Dry van, loads ranging from 29-35,000# about 395deadhead miles from jersey to cleveland to get loaded, get loaded in cleveland, ending up in phoenix empty half or so, finish in la,cali. From cali get loaded..from cali its off to jersey.. actually bought 1 trailer before end of last year for tax purposes which was good paid off already, but its sitting. =/

And before we go further with this, lets do a little math.
US express will pay you and a team member .50cpm using their truck and their fuel with their trailers so no expenses.
On the higher side of miles @,50 cpm X 5000 miles = 2500.00 which is 1250.00 per driver which could be accomplished in a week as a company driver.
Lower side of miles @ .50 cpm X 2500 miles = 1250.00 which is 625.00 per driver. -
We also get a fuel advance, and don't pay for renting trailers, tractor and trailer are both ours, paidoff. We get more than US express would pay if my math is correct..
-
Team loads usually pay more as they are on a time crunch. I do flatbed and only every now and then a team load comes up (its under a time crunch) and they pay in the upper 3's to 4 dollar range per mile (the linehaul plus FSC) and I know that it should be similiar in dry van as you are paying for fast delivery.
