hey nococraig, I am currently attending trucking school, I graduate on Dec.14. Me and a fellow student are looking to team, we are planning to do three weeks out and three weeks home. We are from New Engalnd and all we hear about is how trucking companies love New Englanders especially during the winter. My question to u is, is it feasable to do 5500 to 6000 a week, because that is the minium we're trying to do, we really want to turn and burn, does it depend on u or who u have as a fm. Also what is the avg miles u get on the week u take ur hometime. Any other team driver who would like to put their input in will be much appreciated.

I team with a buddy from my Driver school and we average
Over 6,000 per week. When going home for 3 days you can
    Still get 3-5k miles.

Hey Anne and Craig, I just read about you guys driving for your friends, I hope it works out for you! My husband and I decided to lease with Trans Am, and now I can say without a doubt that trailers with air ride suspensions make a heck of a difference, we are now able to actually sleep while the truck is moving so we are already making better miles then we ever did with Schneider. However, so far they have been messing up on our loads and several times we have had to wait until the next morning to deliver our loads (mostly meat loads that need to be live unloaded). So what we plan to do is wait a month or so, see the numbers, and see if we would actually make more money with USX. The good thing about leasing with TA is that it's totally walk-away, as long as we give them a 2 week notice and turn the truck over to them. Anyway, I was just hoping to ask you guys how many miles did you guys average driving dry van with USX? Thanks!!

We are averaging 5500 per week for the last several months. Also teaming with a friend from school. We stay out 4 weeks on average and home for 4 days average.

Thanks... so far, I am not liking how much we have been sitting with this company... the day before last they gave us an impossible load, so they had to reschedule our deliveries, making us have to sit in Seffner FL all day yesterday, now that I finished the deliveries this morning the next load doesn't pick up until TOMORROW morning... yeah not liking it at all, we'll see the results when the settlements come in...

Well we needed a reset so we stopped in Wa. Wouldn't you know we have family there so we swung by for an overnight. Then our load got switched and we ended up staying two nights. I love when things like that happen. We were able to see Dad and Daughter. Now we are near Yakima on our way to pick up some apples and take them to Calexico. Then we will be going to Jimmy Buffett in Vegas this weekend. This is definitely one of the major perks of this job. Hope everyone is doing great!!
