Or until someone hax the WEP/WPA 2 password and runs your ink out by printing 200 pages of dirty images for you to find on the floor after you return from a shower. :)

Get a hardware based AP (Access point) in your truck, such as the Pepwave "Surf On The Go" mini. It's affordable, will act as your hotspot / access point for all wireless devices: lappy, printer, VOIP phone, etc., is always on, can connect to a 12 volt power source, and provides a lot of internet WAN source inputs. I have a USB modem for mobile broadband plugged into mine, but when I hit a truckstop with WiFi, the Pepwave device can train up the wifi signal and use that for primary internet, then when you drive away and lose wifi signal, it will failover back to the mobile broadband. It also has an RJ45 ethernet port if you need support for devices without wireless, and just a network cable. Best $100 I've spent for electronics in the truck, dang near...

Assign a private IP address to it do not use dhcp. Do you know if it blue tooth? If so you can pair to smart phone and or most laptops and print that way.

no. you don't need to drive down the road. notice i said everytime i log onto the net. that could mean 50 times in a 24 hour period of sitting.

my dad has the hotspot and somehow it works differently i guess. cuz he says he can connect every time.

you can find your ipaddress by going to www.whatismyipaddress.com. write the numbers down. log off. then back on. and check it again. my ip address changes every time.
