Hey cap and flatt, I have a question for ya. Might sound silly, but, will maverick let me use a flare gun for truck defense?

I wouldn't recommend that. Way too much of a fire danger and there's no real reason for a truck driver to have one.

Most drivers have the big wooden or metal tire bashers, and almost all of us have a knife of some sort. You might be ok with a taser, but not sure what company policy is on those. But definitely no gun of any type.

I've never had to use anything for self defense. Most people are smart enough to leave truck drivers alone.

tcd is very time sensitive. if u can manage time well u will do well in this division. I average 2500-3000. I'm a trainer so my pay goes up n down when I have a student in the truck

just what exhawkeye said. time management is very important in this division. and like him (with the exception of the last couple of weeks) I've been averaging around the same miles.

Same here as with the above two. I usually average the same number of miles (unless I get stuck with Tyson loads for a whole week LOL). I've been here 19 months and am at .42 a mile with an overall average of 2600 miles per week. And plenty of detention pay too :)

If you're looking for a specific number after taxes, I'd say that $700 - $900 a week take home is average, with sporadic weeks that bring in over $1000.
