Don't worry about them having spots open they are supposedly doubling the tcd fleet. And as far as the training you should have like 4-5 days of orientation and 2 days of reefer training which just goes over the pre trip of the reefer unit and Canada border crossing and lots more videos yay. Then you will get an instructor and be with them for 2-5 weeks then as soon as your instructor releases you . You will go test out which takes 1-2 days then you will get a truck that same day well more than likely . :fireworks: . Welcome to tcd

Can't remember do you need a passport for Canada?? I haven't been up there since I was 12 or 13 yrs old.
My daughter already wants to wash my mirrors, windshield and wash the wheels. She also want me to drive a pink or purple truck -
Yes. 9/11 took care of that.

Depends on where you live supposedly if you live in a state that borders with Canada your DL will work
-
That's what I thought. Have to go to the post office monday morning.

Seen a Maverick TC truck heading east on I-30 near Garland, TX. Sure was a nice looking rig, the big letters on the side of the trailer reminded me of the company my dad pulled for. Schanno, couldn't miss one of those shinny trailers going down the road.

hmm...forgot that i'd started this thread. All i can say about Maverick TCD is if you wanna run, you'll get the miles! Just now getting my first home time since Memorial Day weekend, but that was by choice. I think I made the right choice as far as a company.
Evil_E, sewerman, jxu417 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well, got an extra day off. Not complaining, tho! Having been out 6 weeks straight leaves plenty to do when you do get home.

Glad to hear getting miles isn't a problem. I hear all their trucks are automatics, how do you like driving them? Also, did you learn on auto's while in school?
autobarry Thanks this. -
one of the only down sides is it makes it more difficult to drive a standard later down the road, you have to relearn the little tricks all over again. My first couple of weeks in a standard truck had me feeling like a rookie all over again, LOL!
