You have to double clutch. Remember one of the things you must do is have power to the drives at all times, especially when crossing a set of railroad track. If shifting is too hard for you, you gots to learn it. Up until she pulls ### off clutch in three heartbeats you should already be in the next gear up. Clutch out. Add power.

Do NOT wuss out and get a automatic truck. It will stamp your CDL a restriction against manual transmisson and you will have a hell of a time hiring on to employers in the future.

Finally but not last, if your tester is scoring 100 points, a scratch or mistake on a shift is not the end of world. Just don't ever have her in reverse at the light before you take off. That happened to me and minus two points.

When I did TN CDL test years ago double-clutching was required on all shifts.
