I see... well there are still 100-150 mile loads that pay between $3-$4.50 a mile.
Getting one that brings you to another one is the hard part.
Managing and playing connect the dots with short loads is not easy. Plus there's more risk involved with being delayed. A couple weeks ago I did a Ft Wayne, IN to Columbus load.. I already was Ft. Wayne and the load paid $500 to go maybe 155 miles. Hook and live unload.... thought man this is great but then it took the entire day to get unloaded lol.
You never know. Still I rarely ever do longer loads, the pay is just to trashy.

The way is see it...the ones who come over on choice and can't figure it out will eventually weed themselves out the door...I do agree that more driving experience should be required before allowing drivers who are inexperienced to go on choice....because how can you run a business in this industry when you have little to no experience in this business...that's a recipe for failure for the most part.
Dinomite and PoleCrusher Thank this. -
I agree with you.
Only thing is, for every one that goes out, 10 more will be lined up to take their place. -
doesn't that define the entire trucking industry? lol
Mega carriers have been making a killing paying noobs peanuts knowing there's always more to come in the following week. -
There's still good rates and freight but look around there's far more IC's for the same amount of good loads.
100 good loads 150 drivers in same market for those loads. Not only does it make it harder to get but drives rates down. It also forces some drivers to take the cheaper freight. -
Ok so if that's the industry then why scream from the roof tops how great everything here is and attract attention and flood our program.Hegemeister, drvrtech77, Erick Evans and 1 other person Thank this.

The instructor in Charlotte was saying that the choice program has grown tremendously over the last little bit. He was talking about how many he has in his class every week that come from outside or from company.
PoleCrusher Thanks this. -

Not so fast grasshopper remember all the posts about how much per mile for all miles you were doing?
I can understand answering direct questions or even random posts but for a minute there you were quite honestly posting your success regularly. Hey that's your choice but I do believe some of us were trying to warn you that it'd come back to Haunt us all.drvrtech77 and Erick Evans Thank this.
