Someone mentioned that IC's and Company drivers eat off the same board. If so, i wonder if SNI has slowed down on hiring company drivers.

    TennMan and 91B20H8 Thank this.

The way I understand it is all the solo otr loads are on 1 board (the one we see)

All dedicated are customer specific and all team otr are on a seperate board.

We as IC have the same board as company. The company load planners are looking now to about 36 hours out. That's why they say for us to plan out 2 or 3 days out to see the better available freight. However the way I've seen loads hit the board and confirm lately has been about 12 to 36 hrs before pick up. I believe the loads are being held longer so company planners can assign some of the better loads to company Drivers.

A short story ( and it's true happened last week to me ).

I had booked a load out of Pleasant Prairie to Newton. Booked it on Wednesday for a Saturday or Sunday pre loaded. I planned on picking up Sunday and delivering Monday then Bobtail home.

I get 20 miles from shipper and stopped for KFC and got the dreaded double message. 1 message and the orange exclamation mark.

I read message my load had cancelled. So I call in. They tell me customer cancelled load due to no empties and they were behind so the load was cancelled. No VNU.

I got on the board and looked and the load was re posted. I rebooked it and said oh well 20 miles I'll be there I'll do the arrived and if it's cancelled I'll get the VNU.

So I book it get to shipper and I'm told by other company drivers there that all loads were now live loads.

So I go to shipping wait my turn and when I get to the window I give them the load info and the Lady is looking it up and says yep your load is ready pre loaded since Friday night.

I ask her did y'all cancel this load because SNI told me y'all sent them a message saying the load had cancelled due to no empties.

She says nope they hadn't contacted SNI that they had empties but we're a little behind loading because of product issues not empties bit they had not cancelled any loads.

    Here's the short part....lol

SNI was going to take me off that load and put a company driver who was there on it.

This choice board is by far better than any other program I've seen to date but SNI still controls everything we do to a degree.

We signed an agreement to haul their freight not a contract (this info is credit to he who shall not be named ).

We agree to their terms or we don't work here.

    A contract both parties NEGOTIATE.

I'm not saying it's not worth it but some days I do question it.

    wow that's one wild story...

Thankfully I've never experienced anything like that.

One time I had a preloaded trailer that wasn't ready.. that was was gonna take me to a 390 mile load paying $1650.
Schneider offered me a VNU if if wanted to not wait and just bobtail the 300+miles to the $1650 load to make sure I'd be on time.
They could have screwed me there but they didn't.

As far as load cancels, well that's why I don't book way out. Whenever I have I got a cancel which screwed everything up.

We all complain (myself included) about a lot here but if there was something better I'd be there and I'm sure many of us would as well.
A lot of IC Schneider drivers on this fourm have their sheet together and are pretty intelligent..

In my time as a company driver, I cannot remember a load being cancelled. Not saying it will never happen, but it would sure serve as a good excuse if Schneider needs a load back. Hey if they didn't mess around a bit they would be foolish business people.
We just need to keep our eye on the big picture and decide if it's worth it.

    TennMan Thanks this.

Well I have been on the phone with my ICA and technical support in Green Bay about not being able to book loads and they keep telling me that Omni tracs has been down all day and that I should be able to book loads later.
How do you explain to the lady that takes the messages and says someone will contact me back (which they have not done yet) that it has nothing to do with the Omni tracs that it has something to do with the booking process? I keep getting the same error when I book a load and I have had to have 2 loads force assigned to me and now support wont do it again and I can't get any help.
It is costing me money and no one wants to help. One of these days I will find all that money my rich uncle hid before he went to the poor house.

That was an Omni tracks issue...
It took me 4 hours for the loads I booked to reach my truck today.
I was already preplanned for the today so it didn't affect me.
