DFO can you tell me what the onboard process was when you brought your current truck on board with SN I did you have to sign a brand new lease with Schneider National new fuel card all that good jazz or did they just change it to reflect your truck vs a leased truck

TennMan and mickimause Thank this.

Infamous Mayne famous never. Lol
mickimause Thanks this. -
Turn in your lease truck, remove plates and prepass
You fill out an upgrade sheet to fax/email to the person at SNI with information about your new truck. Also need to send a copy of the title
Transfer your 2290 to the new truck , can do that online with the expresstrucktax thing
Upgrade person transfers over insurance to your new truck
Go to OC to get inspection done, they install MCP, if that's all clear get with your ICA. If repairs are needed, the OC shop will do most, but has to be approved by your ICA first since it's billed to your settlement
ICA has you sign a new lease agreement (with SNI, not truck of course since you own it) that contains the info about your new truck, etc. Everything else is the same as your lease agreement when you leased a truck before.
Road test with new truck
Stuff that changes:
Truck #
Stuff that doesn't;
Plate
Fuel card
Prepass
By the way - before you buy the truck, talk with someone at Schneider about doing so beforehand. I remember talking with the guy that looks at choice applications in Green Bay, he told me many times you don't have to pay sales tax. I'm not sure how or why this works, but I guess it had something to do with the fact the truck would be leasing on to SNI and the way the plates, etc., were done. I forgot about this and had to pay like $900 in tax on my truck when I went to the NC DMV to get the title put in my name. -
mickimause Thanks this.
