-1 this morning in Willington CT.
A tad on the cool side..but it's a glorious day running freight with the TRUE Yankee's up here.
And NO TennMan I'm not a Yankee.
I was born and raised SOUTH of the Mason/Dixon line.
Heh!mickimause Thanks this. -
I watched Cast Away last night. WILSON!!!!!!!!mickimause, rickybobby, Dogals right foot and 1 other person Thank this.
-
Dogals what do you put gravy on? What the last fried food you ate? What's your favorite drink?
-
My personal answers...
Everything
Chicken
Coke (I like the Mt. Dew flavored ones)
But I'm from further south than you, TM...
TennMan Thanks this. -
Well I wasn't born or raised in TN. Jacksonville Florida is as far south as my roots go.
-
Gravy goes on everything, everything gets fried even pickles and I drink corn in a jar but coke is the chaser and mountain dew is the only acceptable Pepsi product.
mickimause Thanks this. -
Okay, so you're from further south, geographically, but Florida has too many refugee yankees to count as part of the south. You're forgiven, though, because you got out and moved to a sufficiently Southern state

Speaking of frying, does your better half keep a can of bacon grease on the stove, to fry everything in? My grandmother did that forever...I was confused when I got my own place and there wasn't a can on the weird stove with the coily things instead of open flames. Nothing says 'southern' quite like bacon grease and open flame!!
Done right, corn in a jar is excellent. Done the way it usually is, it's good for ...well, I can't think of anything. Carb cleaner, maybe? Had some a couple years back that was sipping whisky quality...mmmmm!! As far as soda pop goes..."You wanna Coke?" "Yeah." "What kind?" "Mt. Dew" Unfortunately dark colas taste horrible to me now, so I drink the non-caramel-colored ones.TennMan and Kenworth #1 Thank this. -
I try and stay away from the cokes but I can't seem to win that battle. We don't keep it on the stove anymore we used to as well as a bowl of melted butter. Bacon is a staple food as well. I only like the real corn in a jar the stuff the liquor store sells is not the real deal. A good sippin whiskey is always used to cure a sore throat or a cough.
mickimause Thanks this. -
We went to the corn in a jar place in Gatlinburg a couple years ago...not bad, but not the good stuff, either. Although, there's a winery just down the road a bit - couple-three blocks, maybe - that has some good wines. On the corner, across from a gas station (which narrows it down considerably...lol)
