Almost wonder if it's worth trying to run during a holiday week. I guess it depends on what the load board is showing/paying.

 

I've been doing OK over the past few days. Had to sit one day, other than that been able to stay busy. Big name customers are gonna move stuff all the time, and we have contracts with lots of them. Not gonna be many one-off loads from the small shippers and receivers though, and if you do, usually they've got a big gap in delivery times 'cause one or the other is gonna be closed, lol. But, beats sitting at home. I've had enough of that for a while. I'm also super picky about what loads I will pull. If you don't mind pulling just about anything and going wherever it goes, it's not a problem at all to stay moving during the holidays. Just don't route yourself into a deadzone.

On a completely random note (my MCP just woke up and sqwaked at me), does anyone that used to be a company driver still get the urge to jump up and look at the MCP when you hear it say "a new preassignment has been received" after you assign a load on the load board? I used to jump out of the sleeper in the middle of the night when the planners would assign me a new load, just praying PLEASE NO NORTHEAST PLEASE NO NORTHEAST. To this day I still get that pit in my stomach for a split second until I remember... I just assigned my own load. Durrrrrr.

i mute my mcp i hate when it gets to talking when im trying to rest.

 

Everytime I talk to you I hear the MCP mumbling in the background.
I figured you had something going on with it..after all it gets lonely on the road.
