Have a 29 lx.(the one cobra came out with that has the Harley Davidson logo)Not quite a year and half old. Anyway, working great until today. Started getting really bad feedback on key ups. My dynamike was turned up and when I turned it all the way down, the noise stopped. However instead of other radios hearing that loud feedback, they couldn't hear me at all. Turn up the dyna and it was feedback both in my cab and in their trucks. All the antenna connections are nice and snug and I can receive as clear as a bell. Friend of mine rechecked it said my receiving module was going out. But if I can hear fine but not talk, wouldn't that be a xmitting issue? Anyway, this a company truck so they gave a brand new 29 ltd to put in but it wouldn't power up. Mechanics said they would look at fuses and what not. But the Harley is my personal radio and I like it because of the LCD and weather scan. Does this sound like a fixable problem? The setup is dual antennas and I double checked where the cable comes into the Y connector.

Tried all that before I got the other radio from shop. After they replaced fuse, lead mechanic said just use my mic until I got the radio fixed then swap back. Well this brand new radio was doing same thing, so I got them to give me the mic that came with it. Problem solved. At least it wasn't the radio itself. Mix is cheaper than getting a radio fixed.

Even though the new mic solved your problem if it is cobra stock mic I would consider replacing it with a good noise canceling mic because sooner or later it too will go bad.

Definitely. Been shopping around. Those Astatics are they any good? Noticed amazon is selling them a heck of a lot cheaper than the stops.

Found it. Relatively inexpensive it looks like on amazon. I expected $100 or more.
