after reading this thread and all the sour grapes ,while scumbags the may be they are not much different then most out there that will lease you a truck and I doubt they held a gun to anyone's head to get them to sign and by signing you folks there by gave them the metaphorical gun
So who is to blame ? business is a tough world to play in folks and while I sympathize with those that lost ( yes I have as well) I have read thousands of these posts over the years and feel it must be said that it is sad that these companies can run a business model depended on the stupidity of drivers -
yes it is sad that, i cant call a trucking company but a scam bs do this to drivers. yes lp are scams and seems to be a thread going on. while the economy is bad does not give these crooks a right to steal. a well managed company can survive in any inclement. we were fortune enough not to lp purchase with these crooks. as by far consider do i think the drivers are ignorant. yes, they fell into a line of bs thinking they were going to make an honest living.
bad enough that these drivers lost their a@@. but judging their credibility to warn people to stay away from crooks like this is like looking a gifted horse in the mouth.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 22, 2012

Summerland, I'm just trying to make the point that it's difficult to believe someone when their first post is rip job on a company. Many recruiters get on here and do that.
You however seem to be a regular, so by all means carry on.... -
Tetreau is still pulling the same old stuff. They blame the state of Florida for failing to provide me with plates and a cab card. They are the biggest stallers I have evere seen. My contract clearly states that they provide plates after taking $200.00 per week for 5 weeks from my settlements. They got that and didn't get my plates. So I sat for eight days at truck stop waiting.
The fuel card works intermitant. Seriously,I have waited many hours for fuel.
They changed the old contract because they feel as though drivers are lazy. What they need to understand is that the live load and offload is where the problem is. Too much time is spent waiting to load and offload. Nearly all loads are FCFS, man I hate it when I see that on the text message. Also, most of the loads we get don't qualify as overnighters or two day runs. Usually about 700 mls or so, so add the DH and you really shouldn't try to log it overnight. But the load will cost you two days. So you only get those two runs in before weeks end. You can pick up another load for the weekend with probably the same 700 miles. Pretty bad week. This is not Tetreaus fault, it's the industry. But the new contract clearly punishes the driver for this problem. No one cusses anyone out at Tetreau and all coversations have been pretty polite. I still drive for them cause what I really want is a policy change. They are gonna start getting letters from me, certified mail. Tired of them dancing around. Will keep you posted. -
$1,000/year? Seriously?
Mine's only $550 for the 48 Lower plus Provinces. -
My complaints were finally addressed. They have gone through my settlements and appear to be preparing to adjust the unauthorized deductions. They have also agreed to stick with the original contract I signed when I hired on. They lost my original contract, save some signed paperwork that was to thier favor, oddly enough, so I had to send them one of three originals that I signed so they could make the adjustments. The jury is still out. They agree that I am owed. Will I be paid for thier mistakes and negligence to provide me with plates and cab card? Sitting the eight days over the 100 days on a 90 day permit? I really do believe they are working to correct the issues that are costing all involved money and time. We'll see.

Lost paperwork my arse; how come every company wants a contract; but they "lose" documents? Supposedly...This must be how D.C. does business...LOL! -
rogerd, seriously read between the lines. im not writing this to tell you what a bunch of crooks they are, im writing this to let you know before you get deeper in debt with them. fuel cards never worked there because they are waiting for money before you can fuel. what does that tell you? 8 days at a truck stop? i dont think so did they comp you for time? HELL NO. and you wont be. you can fall for there line of bs but i promise you, you will get screwed in the end. i hope you didnt do a lp with them, you will never see a pay check. its the same old dance and song. never got whats owed to us and its been almost a year. also ask them for original load sheets not their version of it. they are skimming on loads. they cant find orig. contract yea right it probably went file 13. as to say no paper trail. please do let me know if they give you orig. copy of load sheet by law they are suppose to bet they cant produce it we never saw them. goodluck
they are just ######## bottom line. cut your losses before you lose everything. it wont take long either. let me spell it for you THEY DONT HAVE ANY MONEY. its going on their nice cars, houses, condos etc... they dont give a flip about you.
i understand fed x never that of that. im not here to bash on anyone just dont want to see some other drivers family suffer. im sure there are some good companies out there fed x is very good one. just hard to get in. but now days good companies are hard and fewer between.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 22, 2012

Tetreau said I am owed money by them due to illegal overcharges on my settlements. To the tune of $2400.00. Plus detention waiting for plates in London ohio for 8 days. They however cannot pay me because they need the money for my poor fellow drivers at same company, fuel of course for the weekend. I do feel for these drivers. Waiting for fuel cards to be reactivated was one of the worst things I ever had to deal with at that company. Mr. Tetreau is a pleasent guy, but I just had to let him know I can't run for this company anymore. I found what appears to be an excellent job opportunity elsewhere, and this appears to be happening now in the industry. Don't work for these guys. Look elsewhere. Collecting will be unpleasant I am sure. First thing I do is make formal complaint with law enforcement of theft. Pretty simple. Then I go to DOT and file formal complaint with paperwork about illegal contract changes and unauthorized deductions from settlements. Also failure to provide plate and cab card for 80 days at least. They did not apply for plate and I road on an illegal TOP. Remember, this is commercial so it's retroactive. Dot will want to see all registered trucks in fleet and jokes on the DOT. You know why? They have moved all thier stuff to Michigan from Florida! I am gonna raise so much hell. Michigan DOT are gonna back up to thier new facility with moving vans and take all thier boxed up stuff from Florida. I won't collect what I am owed, but this is a dish served cold.
I really don't think Tetreau is the only company out there doing this. Times are hard, so everyone is scraping. Also my recommendation to anyone purchasing a truck is to take it to a dealership to get inspected, they are more likely to spot problems cause they want to fix it for you. Then take the vehicle to your mechanic for a price. Let me tell you, you better find a good Mechanic close to where you live. It was about the smartest thing I have ever accidently done. If you live around my area, holler at me. On a side note, hope I don't seem dumb. What is a Troll?Last edited by a moderator: Jan 22, 2012
