I've seen so many gators in the road this week. Till it makes you wonder why would a outfit use these things. But anyway I saw this accident and thought someone fell asleep at the wheel. But it was from a blow out. Quite amazing that everyone made it out alive. Because from the looks of it in person, one would think multiple people died.

Gators happen at the right time, but are caused over a period of time of neglected air pressure.

But the tread can separate and fly off on a virgin tire too.
When they make a new tire they glue the tread onto the casing just like when they recap it,.

from some one too lazy to bend over and put a gauge on the tire, gotta be smarter than the air in the tire, if your hesitant about running caps, by all means don't do it because we don't need to be running over your crap in the road you leave behind, I get 85% of the tread life outta caps at less than half the price and have had NO PROBLEMS, and I run Michelin 455 50 22.5 with a DN2 tread , and have the paperwork to back that up

Retreads are a crap shoot. Some previous owner went over a curb too fast, the casing is a ticking time bomb waiting to go, even when it's not hot.

All tyres are designed to function at a certain speed once you combine higher speeds with higher temps you get quite a few tyre blow outs.

What would you think when they blow at 55-60 mph in the spring or fall when it isn't hot? 1,3,6,8 times before you know something isn't quite right.

These were all recaps on the trailer with a tire inflation system, they weren't running low.

There is a plus side. :) watching the 4-wheeler close behind receive a wake up call.

That isn’t always the case. My 1st truck with Western Express had brand new recaps installed on all the drives when the truck was given to me in December 2014. A few months later in July 2015 one of those recaps let go while I was driving on I-85 north just 20 minutes outside of Charlotte,North Carolina. And I had just checked the tire pressure prior to picking up the load because it was very hot that day(110 degrees F-without the heat index). When it blew,it sounded like a shotgun blast or someone banging a metal trash can around with a baseball bat. Mind you I was pulling a light load(only about 9000 pounds in the dry van). Goodyear retreads are the ones Petro, and TA sell they are called Bondag have your self a good look at those on the outside wall of the cap and tell me it you think that tire will balance, or wobble after a short time.
