Is there somewhere online that states you can do that? I called DPS and he couldn’t answer that question, yet they enforce the law. I’m waiting on IFTA as well. Mike

Is it stated somewhere that you can run Texas without IFTA stickers with an apportioned plate from Texas?

You only need IFTA if you cross state lines. Texas will give you an apportioned plate, and you can stay in Texas the whole time with that plate, and never get IFTA. But they will revoke your IRP and take the plate if you don't do a minimum number of out of state hauls per year.
You can't even apply for IFTA until you get your IRP finished. So get apportioned. Immediately file for IFTA. Continue running your temporary plates in Texas until your metal plate comes in the mail. Bolt that on. Continue running in Texas until your IFTA decals come in the mail. Put those on your truck. Cross state lines. That's it.Dadetrucking305 Thanks this. -
