I have been working local for the past year and three months at a Sanitation company but I didn't get my CDL so I could lift dead people
all day ( that's really what it feels like ). I am looking into going back OTR but I would like Texas Regional, not necessarily just Texas but around Texas and trying to figure out if I should go with a friend that left my job and went with a lease for a small company or Company? I have looked into other local jobs but I'm running into the issue of me being a woman ( I know for a fact that is the case because one Secretary flat out told me that and another company told me they didn't need anyone but then my friends husband walked in the next day to apply without a CDL and they offed to train him) and the fact that I only have 9 months otr and 3 months local Tractor Trailer. So what do you think about Roehl and do they have something close to that or does anyone know of some other Companies that do? Thanks for any help.
Texas Roehl, is there Regional?

Here's the perfect job for you; Old Dominion line haul division. You're qualified if you have hazmat endorsement. No lifting, just drop & hook.
Terminal managers want you to go in person to apply and no phone calls. Phone calls are not in person.
Old Dominion hires new cdl grads with hazmat endorsement. Tell the terminal managers you're looking for a line haul job. There's usually openings around DFW and surrounding area terminals.Last edited: Sep 23, 2016

Wow, this is why I love thetruckersreport always good info here and yeah I was hoping Chinatown would chime in as well, so thank all of you. I have been wanting to get my hazmat I just haven't had the time to get up there yet which sucks because I know more options could open if I had it but I do have tankers and when I first started I chose not to get doubles because I have never liked them hahaha.

Here's 2 tanker companies with lots of home time and you don't need hazmat. Both have terminals in DFW.
Foodliner
A&R Logistics
Old Dominion line haul is still the best deal. Mail hauling may be ok.Texnmidwest and 27butterfly Thank this. -
Hi butterfly, From where you live I would definitely check out tyson, that is a heavy freight lane for them. I worked there over 5 yrs and was fairly happy with them.
27butterfly Thanks this. -
Well I hate to say but because I have been out of OTR for over a year and a half I'm finding it difficult to get on so I'm going back to Swift but this time I know more how to make it work in favor of me and not against me, at least I'm hoping lol.

KLLM and FFE have refresher in Texas.
