I kinda have a hard time with sympathy if someone thinks a legit company or service provider does business strictly in Bitcoin, gift cards, etc.
Sirscrapntruckalot, Flat Earth Trucker and mjd4277 Thank this. -
I use monopoly money from the Bank of Parker Bros.
Sirscrapntruckalot, Flat Earth Trucker, tarmadilo and 1 other person Thank this. -
I do not understand how a sheriff's department can legally break into someone else's property and confiscate all the cash out. The scammer still has the bitcoin they swindled.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
With a POWER SAW BABY!!!
YEAH!!!
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Can't answer the legal question, but this action transfers the damage from the couple who got scammed to the owner of the Bitcoin machine - arguably an innocent bystander. And yes, the scammer still gets away with the filthy lucre. I smell a lawsuit.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

The Sheriff had a warrant allowing him to do this.Sirscrapntruckalot, RockinChair and mjd4277 Thank this.

Perhaps the victims should have bought $100 worth first, before they stuffed the machine with $25k.

Well, the real scam is BitCoin itself.
Sirscrapntruckalot and mjd4277 Thank this. -
Agreed. I don’t see how people can back a currency that isn’t formally backed by a government.
It’s a another glorified Ponzi scheme IMHO.Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this.
