So if they try to coerce you into running all night and you refuse wonder what will happen. Not your fault that they let their shippers be idiots?

I used to run for JHS (now Trans Am)which is 1\4 mi. up the road from Tx. Star. We had several of our guys leave to go there and Gulf Coast Transport. I never heard anything bad about them but that was almost four years ago.

You may want to look @ IWX. They have a terminal in Ft. Worth and the drivers that i've spoken with seem pretty happy. Here's a link: IWX

Yes I have some advise stay away from Texas Star Express out of Rockwall they are not going to pay you worth a flip and they lie to you to get you to come and drive for them I know because I use to work in the office there for 8 years and they ripped drivers right and left and I am a drivers wife and thank God my husband never worked for them also you might want to see how stable they are since they have laid off a lot of us.
-
I can tell you about an O/O that quit them after 2 years of discontent. I honestly don't remember what he told me other than not being happy. This was 18 months ago and he was an experienced O/O living in San Antonio. FYI...

to all that was thinking Texas Star Express isn't in hot water well let me tell you they can't even pay their vendors every 30 days and they laid off people right and left and they are trying to make the company more owner operators to absorb the cost of doing business and I know because I worked there and wasn't a driver.
GreenChile Thanks this. -
TSE is a good company, I've been here for 4 years, and have been happy. I've encountered the same problems as everybody, but so has every other driver for every other company out there -- no matter what they say. It comes down to the people -- and TSE has good people.

Funny that you got laid off but there are still lots of others still working and getting paid regularly. Maybe you weren't such a good employee?
-
TSE is tied to EPPs at the hip.
and they are struggling to make ends meet. all employees took a 10% pay cut last year and not all have caught back up.
also caught wind of a possible sale in the future. -
Okay, so there is the usual conflicting information on this thread. In a couple months I will be moving to Ranger, Texas (HappyJack is probably the only guy on here who knows where that even is, since he is from Abilene just up the road!) I am going to have to change from my local Omaha company, where I have been running upper Midwest regionals. The website is a little sparse - and has the normal propaganda. They have a lease program that looks decent. Thoughts? I know lease programs are not the best... but I like being the one who decides when I go home and being able to turn down ridiculous loads.
