Old thread but I worked there over 10 years as a union road driver. Contractors get PLENTY of miles, it's cheaper for TForce freight and it's all terminal to terminal runs. Sitting happens at times but they will also give you runs over road drivers simply because it's cheaper. The road board HATES contractors because they think (and rightfully so) they are taking work away from high paying union jobs. TForce is absolutely trying to lose all road drivers especially at non hub terminals. My terminal had 52 drivers when I started in 2011 and now had 26 and that's after a small terminal closed and 12 drivers came over.
