Theres no match for us... might be different for a new hire. I have 3 401ks with this company. The first is the
UPS Savings Plan (before the CBA was voted on) then the Teamster/UPS 401k, and now the TForce 401k.
There will be a Pension/or 401k with a match im sure. After 2023 we will see what TForce will offer.

Didn't you say you were in your late 20's? You are not behind on savings. You're doing fine. Most Americans don't start saving for their retirement until their 30's. I read somewhere that most Americans don't even have $1,000 in a savings account for general emergencies. The fact that you are even thinking about saving right now puts you ahead of most Americans.

I do agree though, that your employer not putting in some kind of match for your 401k is garbage in the year 2021.

Yea Im gonna be 29 in October. And my main goal is to pay off debt and save as much as I can for retirement. Silly goal but I would love to retire a millionaire. I know it's a silly goal but I've had that goal for awhile.

It's good to have goals but don't think of a million dollars as being a lot of money. It used to be but it's not any more.
Shoot for a net worth at retirement of 2 million and you won't have to worry.

Good observation Reo, but I don't know if 2 million could even be considered as "the new 1 million" (you didn't outright say that but I assumed you were saying 2 million is the new million). Things have been crazy the past few years, that number might be even higher than 2 million and it'll definitely be higher than 2 million 30 years from now if the current trajectory continues.
