Of course what I’m sure he “forgot” to tell you was the extent to which they will bend over backwards to make sure you won’t get any, like handing off freight to cartage companies who work for peanuts if it goes too far away.

UPSF drivers have/had two options for health insurance. One is free. The other is $40 a week and has really good coverage. It's a little better than UPS parcel.
As for the pension etc, the pension has not been lost and there will be raises. TForce has to honor the contract. And all employees are still represented by the Teamsters.
And I have no doubt TForce will continue to negotiate with the Teamsters. The CEO has praised the Teamsters on a few occasions and even said he has no problem working with them. He said this on video. You can do a search and find it.
I'd also like to add, I believe UPS planned on selling freight for a while. It is the reason the raises were so weak last contract. They did it so that it was easier to sell.skinnytrucker, LtlAnonymous and p608 Thank this. -
Well I hope that's not the case.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
You'll hear a lot of bragging followed by doom and gloom on this site. The truth is typically in the middle.De Trucker, jmz, p608 and 3 others Thank this.

I realize you're (buffalonytrucker92) at a different LTL company than me and in a different region of the country than me, but I'll just say that if your LTL Terminal is anything like mine then you'll be begging to get your hours reduced lol. We've been absolutely slammed the whole time I've been here the past couple of months to the point where if I can work under 11 hours per day I'm ecstatic lol. I'm averaging (for 5 work days M-F) in the high 50's for hours and my highest week was in the low 60's.
But then again at Estes it's overtime after 52 hours so maybe T Force will be stricter about overtime with you guys, I don't know. But right now they don't care about overtime at my terminal, they have so much freight to move and are short staffed that if you want the hours you'll get them. You can come in and work every single Saturday if you want and run out your 70 each week, they don't care. I think other LTL drivers on this forum have talked about getting crazy amount of hours on the P&D side as well, LTL is just booming right now all over I think. Since I'm new to LTL too I'll say that you and I picked a really great time to come into the LTL side of the business.
Overall I think this is a positive move for you. You'll be home with your family and get to work at least a somewhat regular schedule (I'm assuming) with a normal sleep schedule (as opposed to linehauls messed up sleep schedules). I think it's going to work out good for you and give you the stability you're looking for.Buffalonytrucker92 and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
In the very very beginning, there can be some short hours in LTL. But after that, you'll be living at work. This was a good point.BeHereNow97 and Buffalonytrucker92 Thank this.

Im hoping I can get alot of hours. I need the $$$ and l do whatever it takes. Got alot of stuff that needs to be paid. Working only 40-45 hours a week aren't going to cut it. I'm hoping I can at least do a route and work the dock.BeHereNow97 and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
Yes, because there's a seniority system. The top guys put in their time, so they get their pick.Buffalonytrucker92 Thanks this.

Well the guy that did my road test had 16yrs in. Great so I'm gonna starve basically. Crap. R and l carriers wanted me to do an interview next week for linehaul. Recruiter said first year is $60-65k. Hopefully I get the hours. I've been having really bad luck past three years. Just need things to change.
LtlAnonymous Thanks this.
