I AM grateful to all the members and admins here for providing all the great information and support. THANK YOU ALL!

My name is Daniel. I've been driving (and owning) medium duty trucks and equipment trailers for 30 years as a local contractor. I have my CDL class B learners permit, cause I have a 33,000 GVW International. Everything else I drive is under CDL.

Anyhow, my cousin, whose been a heavy equipment op all his life, and I are starting a trucking company, hauling frac sand in PA/Ohio/WV, then branching out to west texas and possibly ND (water and oil too) when things go well. We've got good credit, capital and a little bit of common sense. Plan is to start with one then put 3-5 sand haulers on the road in PA by mid June. I've been looking into the work, equipment, compliance, insurance, financing etc. and that all looks very do-able.

The one question is: can we find good drivers? My cousin and I will not be driving, as I already have a biz to run and he's out of state. We both share the philosophy that you have to take care of your drivers. I AM always looking for a competitive advantage, and IMO the best way to make this company grow is to make it great for the drivers. That way we can attract better drivers and its a win win win... SO I'll be lurking and asking questions here and there. I could definitely use a mentor. If there's anyone out there that cares to offer support, PM me.

I tend to lean left and care about the environment (though I think that global warming is caused by changes in the sun, not CO2. Blaming carbon as a greenhouse gas is just another huge scam by industrialists that are trying to tax air.. they know the people aren't stupid enough to fall for getting taxed for breathing in, so they're taxing you breathing out).. I actually live in PA and a lot of my friends are against the fracking here, and I would be too, except Fukashima changed my mind. One little wave almost took out the whole northern hemisphere... Now I consider nuclear BY FAR the greatest threat to mankind and the ecosystem. So ending nuclear is my main mission. A sign waiving hippie isn't gonna get the job done, so ahuling frac sand seems to be a good first step.

Look forward to sharing the journey with you all.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
