I rocked one a while back until it kept getting caught in the creeper wheels while I was rolling around under trucks and equipment.

Okay so I have a question and since this thread is lomg since beyond usefulness to the op; there is a truck at my work that when I I flip the switch its like it wants to throw it into the corresponding higher or lower gear. I.e. if im in 8 and coming up to slow moving traffic, if I flip the switch down, wham.

Even if I put into neutral and flip it down it clinks and kinda makes a dragging feeling, unless I wait until Im actually at the lower speed I need to be at for the shift. If I flip it down then, the results are far less dramatic.

What the heck is going on? (Besides obviously something very badtothe truckqhen I preselect range! Lol)

There is a lockout switch that prevents the range from shifting in gear. It probably is broken. If you are pre-selecting the low range while you are traveling fast, if the lockout is broken, the speeds are too fast for the low range. Get it to your shop, and they should fix it.

and i thought this was going to be a thread about going from a 10 to a 9 speed pattern (9-13-18) and grabbing what i call the W.T.F gear

yup where 6th would be on a 10 speed witch is really closer to like a 4th and if you grab it you think to yourself what the flock gear is that.
