I just don't have any tire troubles to make it worthwhile to carry a spare, jack, torque multiplier, lube, spoons; that's too much dead weight. If a nail made it through I can normally use my air hose to keep it up until I get home to fix it myself.
That's something I've never seen before

Yeah, the same bulb is used for the high beam so you have something to work with in a pinch.

I remember years ago with sealed beam head lights, you could "man-slap" them, and the filament would touch and it would come back on. You only got a couple of those, however.skellr Thanks this.

Your right on that. But where it is needed is when you are on the side of the highway, and dont want to wait 3 hours till the tire truck has time to get to you. I carry 2 tires aired up on rims, one for the truck(thank god for hub pilot), and one little pain in the butt for the trailer. I sometimes worry that the management is going to tell me I cant work on my truck in there parking lot. There was one time I just crossed into Kentucky and there was a head on, blocked the whole highway. I was crawling all under my trailer fixing the wiring on my trailer for the 2 hours we were stuck.

Thats what I have on my trailer, they are 10 times harder to mount/dismount than the 24.5s.wore out Thanks this.

You know those air hoses with a glad hand you see in a truck stop? I was one of the 1st to make one of those(although, I,m sure I didn't invent it)When I hauled railroad trailers out of Chicago years ago, I'd pick up a wagon in the middle of the night, and it would have a low tire(or 3) and running those junk recaps low is the kiss of death for those, and good luck trying to find a tire guy (although it could be done)so I thought, where is an air compressor at 2AM in downtown Chicago( that I could get a truck into) DING,
hello, there's an air compressor 5 feet in front of me. Got a 50 ft. hose a glad hand and a air chuck, and saved many a tire that way.
LittleMissCabover and BeN DaViS Thank this.
