    When logging when you are leaving etc yes that works but more so the common sense it's going to take you # least 15 minutes to scale the load (CAT scales), loading, unloading etc is what I am talking about.

    But yeah if you leave # 7:23 you could log either 7:14 or 7:30, however some officers may give you a hard time but you are right in the court of law you would think you would win "if the judge knows the DOT regulations or reads the actually documentation on them" that's the scary part

    Why in the world would you flag a fuel stop instead of logging 15 minutes on line 4? You would be robbing yourself of line 3 driving time. At 60mph, thats 15 miles, and at .40/ mile that comes to six bucks! Would you throw six dollars out the window?

    Nice job Danc... He's absolutely right and many drivers do not realize that the "time they are flagging" off of line 3 is increasing their average speed. The logbook is considered a "legal document" and by your signature you are attesting to the validity of your entries. So in the event your average speed exceeds the legal speed limit of the area you are in you have just volunteered for a citation from officer friendly (if he catches it).
