Hey Ubbzy, are you on the east coast or in the midwest? Maybe thats why she told me that I'd be waiting there for a trainer. I'm way out in SoCal. I know they rarely hire out here and all of the drivers here are OTR.

I think that explains it right there. Linehaul vs LongHaul(me). -
So um...... where are all these "mean" instructors? Austin is a pretty funny dude. Had me laughing all day. Tomorrow more paperwork, finishing our little "test", and simulators. Looking forward to it. I'm going out for a little mile run up and down Leland right now.
So far, I like it. I've never seen such BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN tractors before!

I guess the starter of this post is a little sensitive.....ya know....like a little girl. Either that or he wears a thong to class every day. All I know is that if you can't take what I have seen dished out ( WHICH IS NOT MUCH ANYHOW ) I'll give you the number to the local

Take the skirt off and be a man or you'll never make it in this profession. -
Another day of fun. Classes and simulator. Still waiting for those big meanies.

Hmmm, I can see how some of these things can feel a bit direct and childish at first Sabre1, but once you understand the reasons for them it makes a lot of sense.
It is really quite simple. EVERY SINGLE customer will have rules, like Hardhats or Safety Glasses required, No cell phones, Stay in your truck, Do not get on your trailer while loading/unloading, etc. If you can't follow a few simple rules in orientation like taking off your hat, turning off your cellphone, and not walking on the grass then HOW is TMC supposed to trust you to follow the rules at shippers. Rules are there for a reason and if you can't see that I doubt that you are still with TMC at this point, but I will continue anyway.
Sorry that the clerk wasn't up to Hilton standards, but they are people too and may have a reason to be distracted. Of course if you are as abrasive in person as you come accros in this post you may have caused the rudeness, just something to consider. Your attitude is often reflected by the person you are dealing with.
I am sorry to say it but there are many truck drivers who are crude. fact of life and not a corporate policy to promote rudeness, so I don't see how it relates to a problem with the company. Get used to ignoring rudeness and stupidity or truck driving will drive you crazy.
I hope that the remainder of Orientation was better for you Sabre1.
Glad you are doing well Jarhead, Ubbzy, and Fozzy.SCNewbie Thanks this. -
