    But wont telling them that it was suspended lessen my chances of a job even MORE? And if it was suspended for anything it was for lack of insurance :/

    Come to think of it I hope I paid those tickets from when I was a kid, it was way back in ny too :p

    When asked by the swift recruiter if I ever had it suspended I said "Not as far as I know" o.o;

    get a copy of your DMV report and be honest...

    I am always amazed when guys with ###### driving records, credit reports and felony convictions can't understand why a company won't hire them... it's called 'personal responsibility' and it begins with the guy you see in the mirror everyday...

    If you told them "not as far as I know" start looking somewhere else. If you are serious about being a professional truck driver than act like it! Get a copy of your MVR your DAC and make yourself a professional resume. Now when you talk to someone on the phone you will be somewhat professional! When you go to orientation leave the flip flops and cut-offs at home. You will be representing yourself (believe it or not) and need to portray a professional image so that when you are out on the road the company will have some idea of how you are representing them. Above all, don't lie! They will find out. They do extensive background checks.

    Especially when CSA 2010 rolls out, background checks will be more detailed than they are today. I understand some companies are already doing these checks.

    Odd that the lady at Sage told me "Not in the last five years or so, just check no" and I am sorry that I do not remember 10+ years ago.

    Helpful Information, thank you. Except for the snide talk about my choice of outfits. For the record, when I meet people in a professonal manner, I wear a nice dress shirt, polished shoes, and slacks with a belt. When I got my licence in Colorado I asked for a Driving Record report, it was spotless, then again I know its BS Cuz I had a ticket here before. So, If I go there, ask for a DMV report and thats what they gave me, how many diffrent reports ARE there and what exactly do I ask for? I paid 10 dollars for a peice of paper that I knew was incorrect!

    And yes, I know this too, clean shaven and all. I don't lie, I may forget things (Genuinely unintentional) but I do forget. I did not lie to him, the only reason I thought about it was because my mother reminded me about when I was 18 or 19 that I had trouble getting insurance or some such because of somthing, but hey apparently you recall everything you have ever done. I apprecate your helpful information but perhaps less rudeness would be apprecated. If I misunderstand you, by all means lemme know.

    Also, this would have happened in NY, if I request those things from the DMV here, will it show all of my things from even back when I was in ny? Or only in colorado?

    Also, once I get these, I assume sending a scan to swift/other possible jobs would be a smart idea?

    Yeah, my credit report is crap, comes from some dishonest room mates, and my own mis-appropriation of my youth, and im still trying to fix it. No felony, but youths are stupid, thankfully my driving record has cleaned up from when I was 18 with my first car (Celica GT not a great first car) I understand personal responsibility, and Im working on trying to get things in order, most of this is new to me.

    I am going to email the guy at swift, and mention the possibility of a suspension 10+ years ago and see what he says, the DMV here in this state is useless, (See above post for why) I even told them I was trying to get a CDL and thats why I needed it and thats what they gave me.

    Quick note, swift recruiter emailed me back saying that its not a problem, but I still want to pick up the RIGHT forms at my DMV so any help there is good. So ask for a MVR and a DAC anything else? What should I expect to pay?

    And I could be wrong but I dont have a DAC yet, as I have never been a pro driver?

    I think most states only provide the last 5 years or it might be 10 years on a MVR.
