Just be prepared for the company 'spies' who will report you to the office if you don't chain or tarp the company way or come into Des Moines with your equipment out of place on the trailer.
I have had many drivers tell me this is a common deal at TMC...

I've always been one to follow company protocol fairly closely and it's served me well. I try, TRY, to form good habits. If they tell me to do it a certain way, you can bet it'll be that way, or really close.

In 1 hour, I leave to the bunks (Barracks!) of the trucking school, this time tomarrow, I will be doing my 1 day of the 1.5 days of classroom time, by middle of the week/end of the week, I will be driving a truck, or atleast starting to learn how to back and such, at any case ill be in the drivers seat.
Careful world, Im almost on the road. ^.^ -
Any requests? My cell phone has a camera, I can try to snap some pics if i can figure it out.
-
Good luck in the classroom stuff. It can be boring, but you'll learn a lot. Pictures are always welcome....

Take as many pics as you can, if they'll allow it. Gears is on my Facebook page. He'll tell you that I took a few pics here and there (if he's bothered to look
), over the course of my 10 weeks back down yonder at the steering wheel holder schoolhouse. If nothing else, they'll be fun to look at a few years down the road, and reminisce about how you got from where you were to where you are.... I made more friends and great memories than any one human ought to be allowed, and I thank the Good Lord for that. We kept each other sane through the whole process. As with anything, you'll have good days and bad days. Just remember, we're here to offer any advice and answers to question you may have. Truckers, in general, still hold the first rule in basic humanity in high regard: Help your fellow man (or woman, whatever the case may be). Again, Brother Dragon, best of luck, and we'll be seeing you on the road soon!!!
TruckerDragon and Gears Thank this. -
Yeah, I did do a bit of snooping on Facebook, but not enough as I didn't see the pictures you were talking about....
TDragon... great advice from CCatJack. There's nothing I could add to that except surround yourself with positive people throughout this training and for the rest of your life. You'll be surprised how well things will go. I refuse to be around negative people!TruckerDragon Thanks this. -
I can add one more thing: Don't be a super trucker. There are a lot of people who come out of school, totally green, who think they know it all because they can drive a rig. Big deal. It's just another vehicle and there are A LOT of folks out there doing it. You ain't the only one with a Class A in your hip pocket. Don't go a single day without learning something new, whether it be about life, trucking, etc etc. I'm harder on myself than I should be, but if I go one day without learning something new, I consider that day to be wasted. That's one of the last pieces of advice that my grandfather, a great truck driver and a helluva man, ever gave me. Be open and willing. You'll do great, TDragon. You've got a cheering section, whether you realize it or not.

Gears, the album is called "Tales from the Yard." You might be quizzed....
BarnDog and TruckerDragon Thank this. -
