Made my delivery to Sams/Walmart DC in New Braunfels, TX. Now time to look at the load board and see if there is anything to get me busy tomorrow. If not, I'll probably just sit and refresh the load board all day tomorrow and hope one of those paper loads all the way from here to PA comes back up. I'm drooling at the thought of being able to snag one of those.

Stop drooling you will ruin your laptop...

I'll probably end up throwing it instead because I can't find a load out of here. Not impressed with TX so far, missing my southeast already. Good loads in to TX, and good loads out too but they are very numbered and gone instantly as soon as they appear on the board.

Maybe you should employ CW's misses to book you.
chicknwing Thanks this. -
Coleman coolers are in new braunfels, maybe you could get lucky and snag a light load out of there. By the way I'll be in Laredo tomorrow

Yeah I guess I'm just gonna have to sit tight and see if anything comes up. I was (and still am) thinking about taking a load to Laredo and sitting there, but honestly I'd be making roughly $0.02 per mile by running one of those loads. No point in doing that when I don't already have a good load picked to get me out of there. The good load I saw earlier I know is a "regular" load, I was talking to another IC that I have run into a few times that does a lot of Frito like me, and he has run it once as well. I'm just not sure how often it comes up. If I go to Laredo and it comes up, I'll be hurting myself because I'm actually closer to the pickup now than I would be in Laredo. On the other hand, there is a good chance of a nice load showing up from Laredo, too.
I think the safest bet is to not move until I have a good load planned. Then I can either deadhead or take a break even load to pick it up should any be available. -
Look for some shorthaul stuff maybe? Houston to Dallas and back, Dunno, justa lowly company guy here
