I was given some advice a while back. When going to Florida make sure you get a great rate in so if need be you can BT out. but never take a long distance load out of Florida unless it meets your normal minimum. Not he repeated not Florida's normal low rates. He told me the best Florida exit strategy is to get in on good rates and take shortest load out of Florida to better rates. I hope this helps

Usually the case but we got a load out of orlando to Aberdeen MD at 1.43 and it weighed just under 30,000. They are available but they go quick. We were on a reset and I was able to keep my eyes on the board.

The only reason I'm here in Florida now is because the load that came here paid $1.98 per mile, and then I had a load booked out of here from Tampa to Houston and it was 27,000 lbs and paid $1.63 per mile. I had planned on doing these two loads and then getting a short one home to Fort Worth, but the Houston load canceled a couple days ago, and this one's appointment time got changed twice, which is why I don't have anything else booked yet. I'll be getting up early tomorrow to check the board again, but if I haven't found anything nearby within a couple hours, I'll find something up in GA or AL and just deadhead up there.

I haven't actually tried it yet or had anyone say anything, but we were told in orientation that we were not allowed to BT out of Florida. I'm assuming that's because they don't want us leaving trailers down here, but that doesn't apply in this case since this was a live unload.

that's a good ride, Tim. hey, look, stuff happens.....the big point is that if you work off of averages, a bad day won't kill you. Book a load of Coke out of aubendale for a buck. get back to the fright world, you you'll be fine

but also take the time to do a little math.....if it pays $2.20 in an $1.00 out, your rolling at $1.60 ......as long as the miles are equal. When you load out is longer than your load in, thats when the 'average' needle starts moving in the wrong direction.
Man, folks, it's just part of it. You can't just blissfully ride down the road. You have to MANAGE a BUSINESS....those who don't, usually don't do well. And look, not everyone is a Warren Buffet......we ALL have to learn. The important thing is to LEARN.

"Doc, it hurts when I do this."
    "Don't do that."

simple stuff, but it seems like there's 1001 'simple' solutions.....ya just gotta take your lumps, and drive on....

Is that 700$ including the fuel surcharge? Ive been seeing loads that lookj good on the surface, but when you do the line haul revenue without the FS its .64 cents a mile....

sadwar why not set your revenue at 800.00 per day at 6 days so you have a built in day in case a mishap happens. Just what I'm gonna try and do. It may not be possible but i only want to plan for 6 days not 7 so if i sit for a day i can still work my plan. I'm also gonna try and take loads thru the house when i want a reset or time off. Again it may not work but that's the plan

I am not trying to tell anyone what to do. I am just putting ideas out there to get feed back from those who are already trying different methods.
