    Yup... it's a little crappy right now. Gotta be on your game to grab the good loads before someone else does. Hell even the kinda crappy loads are gone the second they come up. It did this last year though, and probably does every year. Should pick up as time goes on.

    ===

    Only drove around 300 miles today. Haven't seen a load pop up for me to pick up once I deliver in GA yet, so no reason to blast down there and just sit. I'd rather have the ability to enjoy some driving over a few days rather than blast all 600 miles away today then just sit at the Peelot for a day if I can't find a load out right away.

    Since I didn't start on Choice until Feb of last year I missed this time of the year. I fully expected this to happen...

    Just gotta adjust my earnings down a bit, we'll see how it goes...

    after this 1000 mile run out of the Rochester to Memphis for $1.60 I'm booked through the weekend for $1.80 all miles.. all light, drop and hook, no northeast and a load taking me through my house. About 1100 miles over the weekend.
    After my last weekend experience (where only garbage was left) I grabbed up loads early.

    I left PA/NY in time to leave Sadwar all those short loads up there I ran for the past 11 days lol.

    Made it to Carlisle.

    Delivered in Winchester, but no empties, so I bobtailed on up here. Watching my outside temperature gauge on my dash starting to dip into the single digits I stopped at the Winchester FJ to get some Power Service to mix in with my southern fuel from the Atlanta OC. Definitely not planning to idle here while I'm stopped so some anti-gel additive it is.

    Started looking for empties in the yard. Find a few but every time I walk around to the front they are red-tagged. I haven't been up here since October, the trailer yard looks like a ghost town - where did all the trailers go? Found one empty not hooked to anything, no red tag... good right? Hook to it, everything works, then start rolling and pull the trolley valve and... it keeps rolling. WTF. Lock the valve down, get out, go look for leaks... can't hear anything... except find that now my service line has a small crack in it and is leaking. Guess I'll be replacing that tomorrow. So I go to the shop to have them look at the brakes on this trailer... sit there for 5 minutes, not a soul shows up. Ok... nevermind. Take that trailer back to TBO and park it. Saw a driver bring in an empty on my way around the shop earlier, so I find him got lucky, he was dropping it so I grabbed that one and everything works. Can't assign it since all the computer equipment is down (good job, SNI), but hey, it's behind me, and rolls, what more can I ask for.

    Looks like the greatest chance for some wintry weather on Monday is earlier in the afternoon, so hopefully by the time I leave later in the afternoon any snow/ice will be out of the way. Looks like it might be snowing in NC where I'm delivering though... could be messy. I shoulda just stayed south!!!

    Found some coolant dripping on my 3rd fuel tank when I was pulling the PS in, then got to looking and opened up my side box and found coolant in there, LOL. I think my heater core for the bunk HVAC unit must be leaking, or have a leak in the heater hose somewhere. I believe there are shut-off valves near the engine block for those hoses so if I can I will just shut them off and not worry about it, since I use the Espar for heat in the bunk. Depending on if there ARE any valves or not will be the deciding factor on whether I go home or not after this load. If I gotta break out some tools and repair some hoses or block them off or something, it's sure as **** not gonna be up here in this single-digit weather.
