Good luck on the school, and on your new journey on the road together. Looks like a good story in the making!

    Wishing you two the best!
What an adventure. With just me in the truck, I've got enough room for my stuff. With two, that'll be a challenge. I've got a microwave and fridge in the truck and making stuff to eat is a snap. The prepared meals you can buy are yummy, but they're loaded with salt, which for me is not a good thing if you've got elevated blood pressure.
I may have missed it, but did you mention who y'all plan to drive for?

Today was the first day of class... I am sure glad that I/we decided to take the truck driving school an not just try for my CDL on my own... there is so much that has changed, I couldn't believe it. There was a lot of things that you could log as "off duty" and can't now. Even the training class it self is loged as "on duty" time and counts against 70/8. (Not real sure if that is just to give us practice on logbooks, CRS requirement or part of the new regulations).
Tomorrow will be more class room work. Well, got a bunch of 'homework' to do....

My wife is an LVN and has been for some where around 23 years.
She is going to keep her CEU's up at least for a while to keep her License.
We are really looking forward to the adventure... lol

Yeah it will be tight quarters - but I think we can deal with that - or at least have fun trying - LOL! We both have had gastric bypass, so we will probably be fixing most of our own meals (at least that's the plan), or when we do 'eat out' it will be as if we're solo (we share meals and even then sometimes have left overs!!). Has anyone used that nifty little 12v grill? It will be the electronics and clothes that will take up the room I think (He wanted to bring the full printer for the laptop!! Yeah right - it gets YOUR side of the bed!!) - but then my view of things will probably change once I start out there. He's done this before - I haven't.

We are going to be driving for Central... from what we can read here they seem to be a pretty OK company - but then most companies are basically what you put into them. If you're willing to work, and work hard - they will work you. That is what we are planning on :D

The reason I say that is; back in the 80's when I first go my CDL the California CDL book was only about 20-25 pages.
Now it is 160 pages. Things have changed so much that I KNOW NO-THING!!!!!... lol (just like a California Politcian)
