the only way to make money at England is in Relief and recovery division, sign up for that or don't go. even that can be bad if freight is slow. and of course ya got's to be a hustler.

Believe just about everything you can read on the CR threads. I don't know about the company side, but on the L/O side unless you train you will not get enough miles to make the payments. And then on training you will not get enough sleep babysitting and this can go on for 2-3 weeks or more.

Just be prepared is all. I know there are some on here who are single and just about live out of their trucks so they can get by on less money, but if you have a family and home it may become hard to make it.

Yes it is easier with you both in truck. I rode with my husband for a year and we would go home about every 3 mo.
But in 2008 we saw a lot of families living out of the truck with small children even which is bad when you figure that this was the only home they had left. I imagine it is even worse now.

I can say as a company driver for CRE... It's pretty bad. But if you have no other alternative to getting your cdl, AND YOU REALLY WANT TO DRIVE TRUCK, then it's worth a shot. If you are looking at it as just another job to pay bills, you will absolutely hate it. England will push you in ways you never thought possible. I haven't had the worst experience, but I'm completing my 6 months and moving on. But everyone has a different experience I guess because I do know people who love working for England and actually are successful with this company. But the odds are against you :p

Why? What did you dislike most? I've been talking to them about going to school. What is policy of them and most companies regarding pulling over for just 2- 3 minutes to high step in place and/or stand on your head.. something to get circulation in legs and avoid risk of thrombosis from staying seated for hours?

No one at England ever notices or cares when I stop so long as I pickup and deliver on time. I would assume it is this way at most companies.

For example this trip, I picked up two days early, spent some time at the truck stop washing my clothes, went to my home plant dropped my load behind the secured gate went home, and tomorrow I will go back pick it up, deliver it then take my 34 over Xmas. None of this was discussed, I just looked at the pickup and delivery times and made my own plan, no one really cares much so long as I do my stuff on time and never leave my truck or trailer in an unsecured location.
