Not political at all bud, they need to generate the money to do what they say they need to do.

Political would be if I go after politicians and their braindead followers.

I dump used motor oil in my 7.3 Ford’s tank all the time and it runs fine on a 10-15% concentration. Probably would run fine on a higher amount but I have never added more than 5 gallons at a time to a fill up on a 36 gallon tank. They turn it into home heating oil and resell it to get burnt as fuel anyway. I would not do this with any modern common rail injection system and probably not during winter either.

This is kind of the same bait and switch that is played with adding ethonal to gasoline as well. It lowers fuel economy and can cause older engines not designed to run on it to not run very well. Finding a place that sells pure premium octane gas can be challenging.

Everywhere in Florida sells ethanol free gas but it's expensive. I run e85 in my suburban and it sure does lower fuel economy. I get about 15mpg on gas and 11 on e85.

As much as I absolutely Hate Ethanol fuel and the problems it creates and drives our food prices up.

I can appreciate the economy it creates for farmers and Americans while keeping our Dollars from going to the Saudis.

I live in California, in 2017 the state imported over 98 million barrels of oil from Saudi Arabia.
THAT is why I purchased an electric car, I wish more people looked into where their gasoline really comes from.

The royal Saudi family might be rich as hell, but at least I know none of my hard earned money is in their account.

Smart man. I have the same thought process running e85. Is it overhyped...a lil but 85% of it comes from American farmers and we always have a corn surplus. They say the 15% gasoline comes from US reserves, if that's true or not I don't know but it's a start.

Bio diesel is not bad for any diesel engine. It will give less fuel economy than old diesel. But it has been tested to give the best fuel economy mixed at 5% to 10% blends with ULSD fuel. And that is better economy than straight ULSD.
The only cons to bio diesel is it takes farm land from to grow bio fuel corn. And that's less feed for livestock. Also bio eats many types of rubber and plastics.

Same as above for ethenol blended gas. And Ethenol gas can not be stored as long.

Not bio diesel but e85 potential problem. I just had to fill my suburban up with gas for the first time in years because I wasn't near anywhere that had e85 and it feels like the fuel pump died. I won't know until my wife gets out to me with the tow truck and get it home but it feels like it is running out of fuel. Could be a coincidence but maybe not. Literally just put gas in it and 10isg miles down the road it starts spark knocking like crazy and no throttle response.....hmmmmmm
