Had a call from a broker yesterday , same BS Hot load to move ASAP @ $1.15 / mile for 700 miles, thing was he gave to much info.

It was a load of Packaged rags , ( recieved an email 2 days ago about a GOOD deal on them from a wholesale clearance centre ) told him I would haul it for 8% of the value of the load.

He whined and cried I was a thief , until I told him I knew the load was worth $23,520.00.

you guys think loads are cheap over there. you should see what's been posted in montana.

FIFTY CENTS. and somebodies HAULING THEM.

there's good paying loads. but what delivers in montana. STAYS in montana. anything to get out of here just isn't paying for the fuel.

I haul to Montana, North Dakota the trick is to know your customers and your operating cost. I book everything into dead frieght areas round trip rate. To much energy is wasted on worrying about brokers rates. If it's cheap for you don't haul it, spend that time developing company direct frieght. Your a business and your customers should be the shipper or reciever not the broker... so keep striving for no broker frieght.

i need to get somewhere where's the freight to be hauled in order to find customers. but in montana. there's only two things hauling around here. cars to boise and wood. and since my chains are 3/8 (too heavy) and i only have 10. cars are out of the question.

so far i've had darn good loads with little deadhead. but i've been picking up in the sticks and delivering into the sticks.

there was a 68 mile load paying $28. 40 cemts

there's lotsa 1000 mile loads or less paying $500 or less. you guys say we'd be setting ourselves up for cheap loads. but since i don't plan on hauling on a permanent basis. i may take a cheap load just to cut my losses on fuel just to get out of here.

Nobody is hauling anything for fifty cents. Mega carrier has a contract for $2 and they are peddling it to suckers.

Who say they are covering fuel, when reality they booked too cheap inbound to deadhead several hundred miles out if necessary to at least some $2 freight...just wearing good equipment out and paying someone else to move their freight..

williston north dakota to laredo texas. 1917 miles $700

now there's an 86 mile journey to the tune of $400. and probably siting around the sticks for the weekend.

now there's a load to take me home. but it's a LESS load. and those only pay 50 cents or less. and the only thing i can that would be 2 picks and 2 drops. wants the trailer dedicated for just that one load.
